NEW ALBUM ...WHEREVER YOU ARE
Wherever You Are Album!
Tuesday 12 October 2010 at 14:06Peace and Blessings everyone,
I can’t express the happiness and joy in knowing that we are days away from having the album – finally – released!
I know it’s taken long, and I know some of you may have developed the “Coming Soon” fatigue Honestly, the truth behind this long delay has been due to one simple fact and nothing more, which is the systematic daily efforts of certain individuals who have worked, and continue to work tirelessly to disrupt, delay and generally do anything to stop this album from reaching you. However, I’m happy to say that they failed – miserably.
I’m not shy to reveal that with this album I wish to reach a wider community; in the hope that I could, albeit in some small way, play a part in building bridges and breaking down the barriers and walls that have for far too long prevented us from truly loving and respecting one another. To convey one basic and honest truth; that ultimately, we are One and we are all from the same essence, and although we may feel ‘isolated’ and even frustrated by the things that tend to divide us, we should rejoice in knowing that through our common shared humanity there is in fact much more that unites and binds us.
To be honest, it scares me to see the amount of effort, sweat and time some people spend on trying to hurt others. Plotting away to taint the image of the ‘other’. Can we not see that although the ‘victims’ of such abuse may bear some pain for a limited time, ultimately however, the people who end up suffering the most are those very perpetrators?
It’s time for us to believe in our own healing power. Personally, I believe each and every one of us can be a healer “a smile can change a life, let’s start healing”
Regarding the album, let’s build on the momentum everyone. All the previous actions were meant to ‘damage’ and ‘slow’ us down. Let’s prove that we are ready to face any challenge and obstacle in pursuit of delivering the message of Peace — just as our ‘Teacher’ did (PBUH).
Wherever You Are, isn’t just ‘my’ album, it’s OUR album. Share it with your friends, family and the rest of the world
Let’s get the word out everywhere iA.
Thank you all so much and God bless each and every one of you for the support.
Much love to you all

Trip to New York
Recent Trip to New York and more...
Wednesday 6 October 2010 at 15:52Peace & Blessings everyone,
I hope you’re all well. I’m going to try and keep this short as I have a plane to catch for our show in Tajikistan.
As some of you may know, we visited the US recently for a non-profit organisation called the AIC. The purpose of this visit was not to perform a ‘show’ but to lend a ‘helping hand’ to our friends over there who are working hard to promote their institute. Thankfully, the event was a success and I’d like to thank the community leaders and all those who attended for their support.
Our next stop was New York — one of my all-time favourite destinations
It’s time for me to explain what I was doing there and yes, your hunch was correct We were there for a video shoot. In fact, we went to record some extra shots for one of the music videos that’s still in the pipeline. God-willing, it’s going to look great and hopefully I’ll get to share some pics soon.
Before I conclude, I’d like to share a link from young and talented Pakistani gentleman who helped with the Hear Your Call Music video. His name is Daniyal Noorani and he is a gifted Pakistani Musician and director. You can find out more about him and his new initiative by clicking here
God bless you all

eid greeting
Eid Greetings plus some thoughts...
Wednesday 8 September 2010 at 10:49Peace & Blessings be upon you all,
Eid Mubarak everyone. It’s been a blessed and rewarding month – God bless and reward us all.
I humbly request that we remember those less fortunate than us, namely our people in Pakistan who are still suffering as a result of the floods which took place just over a month ago.
The truth is that a month after the floods began, the effort is still focused on the first stage of relief, rescue and evacuation — this is unacceptable.
It is estimated that only 3% of needs are being met… As flood waters recede the death toll is likely to significantly increase as more bodies are found — disease will further add to this death toll. Over 72,000 children are affected by severe acute malnutrition in flood-affected areas and Conjunctivitis is spreading, with around 2 million cases reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone.
WFP estimates that 14% of the country’s cultivated land has been damaged, at a cost of around $3 billion. In Sindh, over 7 million have been displaced, and some 6,800 school buildings have been damaged.
According to a UN survey in the 10 most affected districts over 72,000 large animals, 65,000 small animals and over 552,816 poultry have been lost, destroying the livelihoods of those people who depended on their livestock.
I’m very proud to say that Save the Children are doing a great job on the ground. I’m proud to be associated to an organisation that made sure they one among the very first to be present on the ground and to attend to the immediate needs of the flood victims.
Here are just a few example of the great work they’re doing:
- In 30 days, Save the Children has reached over 305,000 people through emergency medical care and distribution of tents, shelter kits, hygiene kits, food and other supplies.
- In Buner, over 2380 patients were treated by Save the Children health teams in the last week.
- In Jacobabad in Sindh, over 1000 families of UC’s Thull were provided with Shelter kits, Buckets and Blankets.
- Over 2857 children (1444 boys and 1413 girls) have benefited from art, play and psychosocial support in Save the Children’s Child Friendly Spaces.
Much love and respect to you all.

eid mubarak
Today...
Saturday 11 September 2010 at 16:59Peace and blessings be upon you all,
On this day of Eid, where we celebrate and rejoice, let us not forget those who are suffering and have suffered throughout history.
It is particularly poignant on this day, 11th of September, that we remember those who were tragically murdered in cold-blood 9 years ago and it’s absolutely imperative that we categorically and unequivocally continue to condemn this, and indeed, all acts of terrorism — especially those carried out in the name of our peaceful faith. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims of 9/11 and with all the bereaved of this world.
Let’s all pray and work towards a brighter and more peaceful world for ourselves, our children and for future generations to come.
God bless you all & Eid Mubarak.

Healing
"Healing" :)
Thursday 12 August 2010 at 11:16Peace & blessings everyone,
First of all, I’d like to wish you all a very blessed and happy Ramadan. Secondly, I’d like to take this opportunity to talk a little about our latest music video and upcoming album, “Wherever You Are”.
Back in 2006, while in Jeddah (KSA) for a concert, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Walid Fitaihi, CEO of the IMC (International Medical Centre).
The meeting went really well. But, it wasn’t until we visited the IMC again earlier this year (2010) till I realized the true beauty and significance of what we were about to embark upon. Dr. Walid gave another one of his powerful speeches but this time with a slight ‘angle’ that pulled me in so hard that it was almost impossible to ‘get out’. He spoke about IMC’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme and how he wanted ‘to give back to society’ and therefore the idea to make a brand new music video and song which would reflect that. The project was so admirable, that we decided to make it available for free download ☺ This initiative is something I am very proud to be part of and once you see/hear the Music video, you will know why. The concept of “Heal and you will be Healed” not only moved and pulled me into the project, but totally fascinated me as well. The idea that healing doesn’t necessarily take place in the hospital and through conventional/traditional methods, but rather, “a smile can change a life”; the smallest acts of kindness can be ‘healing’. This is a great initiative and I’m honoured to have been part of it… I composed the melody and lyrics within days of getting back home, and the video has turned out to be utterly smashing ☺ Kudos, the Mr. Jacob Kusk and his great team…
I hope you accept this ‘gift’ and I hope it helps, albeit in some small way, in showing that every single one of us can be a healer.
“Wherever You Are” will be out very soon! We’re working on making it extra special for you all, so I sincerely ask you all to bear patiently with us as you have continued to do so throughout these years. More surprises coming your way
God bless you all.

Healing: an explanation
"Healing" The Story Behind The Song
Healing. An ambition and a vision. Healing. A call embedded in the wisdom to give in order to gain. A smile is an act of charity; sharing love and caring for others enhances prestige and position of the loving and the loved; of the caring and the cared alike. Sami Yusuf's new song "Healing" is a call to revive the caring aspect of human beings. "Healing" is a chance to vindicate all those best hopes one has about oneself and about humanity. It is an attempt to honor the small acts of kindness. It is a tribute to those who sacrifice and stand up for good even when it's hard, even when it's tough -- it is an embodiment of gracious generosity in practice.
The idea of this project was incepted at Sami's meeting with Dr. Walid Fitaihi, Founder and CEO of the International Medical Center, back in 2006. They discussed the possibility of making a song that promotes healing with kindness and lending hands to others. This project was realized this year when International Medical Center (IMC) and ETM International signed a contract to deliver the message of how kindness is one way of healing oneself and others. This project is a means to relay the message that each and everyone of us can be a healer. The Song and Video contributes to the IMC's Corporate Social Responsibility programme The IMC has been involved in many CSR events. Campaign against smoking, rescuing people in emergency cases and promoting the culture of CPR, to name a few. The hospital is involved in many activities that are diverse in application but uphold the same message of serving the humanity. Its counterpart, ETM International, is an emerging British record label company that was conceived in 2005 with the main aim to become the leading international producer of socially conscious music.
This partnership and hence the project envisions to indoctrinate the belief that you will find someone to hold your hand when you need to because you held another person's hand when they needed you; of being there for people and they will be there for you just like loving and caring for your parents, to be loved and cared for when you will be a parent. With realization of this vision and mission, a unified society standing up for one another as a family can be envisioned. It would be possible to imagine a world without a person in need because need is not only confined to material parameters. A needy could also do with people's care and sense of compassion.
The lyrics of this song were written by Sami Yusuf in collaboration with Dr. Walid. The lyrics aim to touch the hearts of people and encourage them to be tender with one another. The video was filmed in Jeddah over nine days as one of the biggest productions for a song in Saudi Arabia. The video shows a series of scenes that embody the idea of exchanging help and support among people. It is a heartfelt depiction of everyday incidents and various situations spanning over a wide age group involving different professions.
The release of this song and the video corresponds with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan -- the month of mercy, hoping it will capture hearts and souls of all. "Healing" is a celebration of values we share as human beings and the resolve to uphold and reward such values.
Heal and you will be healed
healing from SAMI
Sami Yusuf This is the 'huge' surprise I was referring to :) I don't usually ask that people 'spread' my music, but this one is an exception due to the subject matter. Please spread this to every single person you know and let's "start healing". God bless you all. Sami
